  JOB DESCRIPTION Our client is actively searching for a ENGINEER – MECHANICAL (Commercial) to join their team!

The responsibilities of this role are:
  • Coordinate and support mechanical engineering works on-site, ensuring smooth project execution and effective site coordination.
  • Provide technical support in mechanical engineering works, including design understanding and knowledge of relevant building services codes of practice.
  • Ensure materials and installation works by suppliers and subcontractors meet project quality requirements and ISO quality standards.
  • Coordinate, monitor, and control suppliers’ materials, equipment, and subcontractors’ installation quality.
  • Prepare and coordinate shop drawings and related technical drawings for project implementation.
  • Prepare work schedules and attend client, site, and internal meetings as required.
  • Assist the Manager in day-to-day project activities, including schedule, quality, safety, and site coordination matters.
  • Coordinate closely with the main contractor to minimise rework and ensure smooth progress of site activities.
  • Monitor site materials and equipment to reduce wastage and improve efficiency.
  • Liaise closely with suppliers and subcontractors to minimise delivery delays and avoid impact to project progress.
  • Check for non-conformance in materials or installation works and ensure timely follow-up to prevent defects.
  • Explore new technologies and installation methods to improve site productivity.
  • Follow up closely on site progress and communicate clearly with subcontractors and suppliers.
  • Carry out any other related duties as assigned.
  • The ideal candidate will need to have the following qualities and experience:
  • Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
  • At least 3 to 5 years of relevant experience in a contractor environment.
  • Knowledge of ISO 9000, ISO 14001, and ISO 45001 will be advantageous.
  • ISO Internal Quality Auditor certification will be advantageous.
  • Building Construction Safety Supervisor Course certification will be advantageous.
  • Good site coordination and problem-solving skills.
  • Able to work independently and communicate effectively with stakeholders.

The ideal candidate will need to have the following qualities and experience:
  • Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
  • At least 3 to 5 years of relevant experience in a contractor environment.
