J OB DESCRIPTION
Our client is actively searching for an Electrical Engineer to join their team!THE ROLE The responsibilities of this role are: KEY RESPONSIBILITIES 1. Design Review & Technical Compliance
Review electrical engineering drawings, specifications, and submissions from consultants and contractors to verify compliance with clinical requirements, Singapore building codes, and international healthcare standards.
Identify technical gaps or discrepancies in design submissions and work with consultants to resolve them before works proceed on site.
Ensure all electrical systems - including LV/HV distribution, emergency power, UPS, lighting, and building management systems - are designed to meet the operational requirements of a high-acuity hospital environment.
2. Construction Oversight & Site Coordination
Attend site inspections and technical meetings to monitor the installation of electrical systems against approved drawings and specifications.
Review and assess requests for information (RFIs), site queries, and variation orders relating to electrical works, providing timely technical responses to keep the programme on track.
Coordinate with the mechanical, structural, and architectural teams to resolve cross-discipline clashes and ensure integrated systems delivery.
3. Testing, Commissioning & Handover
Support the testing and commissioning of all electrical systems, ensuring that performance meets design intent and clinical operational requirements.
Review commissioning reports, inspection records, and test results, identifying deficiencies and ensuring rectification before practical completion.
Participate in the technical handover process, including joint inspections, snagging, and defects-rectification for all electrical systems within the defects liability period.
4. Documentation & Compliance
Maintain accurate records of electrical submissions, approvals, test results, and as-built documentation throughout the project lifecycle.
Ensure all electrical installations comply with relevant regulatory requirements including BCA, EMA, SCDF, and MOH licensing standards applicable to healthcare facilities.
Support capital grant justifications and technical submissions relating to electrical infrastructure and specialised medical systems.
The ideal candidate will need to have the following qualities and experience:
Degree in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline.
5-8 years of relevant experience, with prior involvement in the design, construction, or commissioning of electrical systems in major building projects.
Experience in healthcare facilities or large institutional buildings is strongly preferred.
Working knowledge of Singapore building codes, EMA regulations, and healthcare electrical standards including emergency power and critical care systems.
Ability to read and interpret complex electrical engineering drawings and specifications.
Strong coordination and communication skills, with the ability to engage consultants, contractors, and clinical users effectively.
Possession of relevant licences or certifications such as Licensed Electrical Worker (LEW - EMA) is an advantage.
