Reporting to the Assistant Director (Fundraising & Donor Relations), the Manager will drive fundraising efforts by identifying, cultivating, soliciting, and stewarding relationships with major donors, including philanthropists, corporations, and foundations. The role is responsible for managing the full donor lifecycle, from prospect identification and engagement to gift solicitation, structuring, and closure, while aligning donor interests with corporate funding priorities.The responsibilities of this role are:
Identify, cultivate, solicit and maintain key relations with a portfolio of contacts (current and prospective donors) with the view to match their giving interests with the group’s funding priorities and needs at the Major Gift level, contributing towards annual fundraising targets.
Lead the end-to-end donor journey, including gift structuring, proposal development, solicitation, negotiation, and successful closure of gifts.
Build and maintain a robust pipeline of donors and prospects through donor research, engagement planning, and relationship management, ensuring a sustainable source of fundraising income.
Proactively identify, develop and deliver engagement opportunities to donors to ensure the maximization of their financial and non-financial support.
Generating pitch collateral necessary for solicitation of donors.
Collaborate with colleagues in Major Gift, General Giving, Stewardship, Advancement Communications, Prospect Research, and Advancement Operations to develop and maintain a coordinated approach in support of overall departmental wide goals.
Liaise with research and clinical teams to develop fundraising content and campaign materials.
Support the planning and execution of donor cultivation, stewardship, and fundraising events, including stakeholder engagement and event logistics.
Contribute to fundraising capability-building initiatives and foster collaboration to strengthen the fundraising ecosystem.
The ideal candidate will need to have the following qualities and experience:
Degree in any discipline (e.g. Business, Marketing, Communications, Arts, or related fields).
3 to 5 years of relevant experience in business development, fundraising, donor engagement, or related fields.
Experience in fundraising, donor engagement, donor research, and CRM systems.
Strong written, verbal, presentation, and communication skills.
Proven project management experience, with the ability to drive initiatives independently and through to completion.
Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment, manage multiple priorities, and meet tight deadlines.
Strong organisational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to anticipate needs and deliver high-quality work.
Self-motivated, resourceful, and able to work independently while collaborating effectively with others.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
