We are seeking a dedicated and dynamic professional to join us as Manager, Research & Partnerships . You will be responsible for leading the research and partnerships portfolio within the school, providing strategic leadership in building and nurturing collaborations with academia, industry, and government agencies, while strengthening existing alliances and seeking new opportunities for research, education, and industrial engagement. You will oversee the operation of the Associate Chair Research Office, support faculty in research-related matters, ensure compliance with institutional and national requirements, and drive initiatives that elevate the school’s research reputation and impact.The responsibilities of this role are:
Manage the day-to-day operations of the Research Office, including coordination of research manpower matters and administrative processes for the unit.
Support school management in the planning and implementation of initiatives to develop and strengthen the school’s research portfolio.
Coordinate with the College and relevant offices on the administration of research grants, research agreements, and related documentation.
Assist in the collation, analysis, and reporting of research data and statistics, working with college offices where required.
Provide administrative and coordination support for research related publicity materials and submissions.
Coordinate and support research engagement activities, such as seminars, workshops, courses, and engagement sessions with internal and external stakeholders.
Serve as a point of contact for research administration matters and participate in committees or initiatives as assigned by school management.
Ensure compliance with university policies, funding agency requirements, and relevant regulations in research administration activities.
Provide day-to-day guidance to one direct report, ensuring seamless support for the Research Office’s operations and priorities.
The ideal candidate will need to have the following qualities and experience:
A recognized Master’s or PhD with at least 2 years of relevant experience in research grant and/or project management.
Good understanding of the research ecosystem.
International or interdisciplinary experience in various technical environments, a proven track record in grant management and experience in higher education sector will be an added advantage.
Strong leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively across all organisational levels.
Proven ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams and build strong internal and external partnerships.
Self-motivated, resourceful, and adaptable in managing complex and time-sensitive projects.
Excellent writing, communication, numerical, and organisational skills with keen attention to detail.
Able to handle sensitive information with discretion.
Proficient in MS Office and open to learning new digital tools and applications
