Our client is actively searching for a Assistant Director, Graduate Career Development to join their team!
If you are a dynamic individual seeking a new career opportunity, read further!The responsibilities of this role are: The position holder is responsible for providing career services to participants enrolled in a suite of MSc programmes, and in ensuring students are successful in their post-MSc journey. 1. Career office strategy and implementation:
Engage with leadership to identify and drive strategic initiatives to keep career services at the forefront of providing optimal and efficient services;
Partner leadership in updating strategies to capitalise or respond to changes in environmental/ social/ economic factors;
Provide multi-faceted career workshops, networking events and company presentations, to get MScs career-ready;
Identify and put in place measures to engage first batch of students in new MSc programmes, and recommend sustainable ways to engage growing student numbers in subsequent batches.
2. Lead and launch career development offerings to help MSc students get full-time and/or internship roles:
Work with Graduate Studies Career Development Office team in identifying career trajectories for students in new MSc programmes;
Initiate, develop and launch suite of career development offerings to help MSc students plug into the global job market;
Spearhead engagement of MSc students in assigned programmes, with a view to helping students refine career goals and sharpen job search strategies;
Provide first level insights into industries and hiring outlook to students, and coach students to ensure readiness for career-related interactions with employers;
Source internships and manage application processes, including required submissions by employers and students, ensuring all regulatory and University policies/ guidelines are adhered to;
Work with external stakeholders in ensuring all relevant job and internship opportunities are promptly shared with MSc students;
Track, update and complete information and documentation on employment of MScs;
Champion a culture of service excellence, innovation, and continuous improvement within the team.
3. Support employer engagement team to secure full-time jobs and internship opportunities for MSC students:
Provide insights on job aspirations of MScs to employer engagement team, and co-develop employer engagement strategies to help place MSc students in good jobs;
Maintain an understanding of market factors (national & global) relative to employer organisations, and build partnerships with companies providing jobs and internships/industry projects;
Manage relationships with industry leaders with view to having these leaders provide industry insights and career coaching to students.
The ideal candidate will need to have the following qualities and experience:
Degree from a top-tier global business school is required. Postgraduate degree preferred.
At least 10 years of relevant work experience, with most recent 5 years in people management roles.
Demonstrated strong track record in managing stakeholders.
Experience coaching and managing students within Institutes of Higher Learning is advantageous.
Good listener, excellent communicator and passionate about developing talents.
Team player who takes initiative and drives excellence.
