Reporting to the Chief Human Resource Officer, you will be a key strategic advisor, leading the HR Business Partnering team to build strong partnerships with senior leaders and HR Centres of Excellence (COE) teams. Your role will be pivotal in developing and executing People Strategies and solutions across the University, ensuring alignment with organizational goals.The responsibilities of this role are:
Leadership and Team Development
Lead, mentor, and enhance the capability and effectiveness of the HR Business Partnering team, including HR Business Partners and HR Generalists.
Foster a collaborative and high-performance culture within the team.
Strategic HR Partnership
Build and maintain trusted relationships with senior stakeholders and managers across departments/ school/centres
Develop a deep understanding of the business needs of the assigned departments/ school/centres and translate these into actionable HR strategies.
Work closely with Deans, School Chairs, Centre Directors, HR Business Partners, HR Centres of Excellence, and Shared Services to develop and deliver effective HR solutions
Ensure HR programs are tailored to meet the specific needs of the business units
Provide expert advice to business units on all HR matters including HR policies, procedures, employment legislation, performance management, recruitment, and rewards strategies.
With the support of HR Business Partners, facilitate the Annual Performance Management cycle by driving calibration meetings with the senior stakeholders, ensuring that performance guidelines are adhered to
Guide HR Business Partners to ensure close follow-up and management of performance review cases to uphold a performance-drive culture
Advise and support all employee relations matters, including conflict resolution, disciplinary actions, and performance issues.
Change Management and Communication
Educate People Managers and employees on policy/system changes and gather their feedback.
Lead the planning and implementation of HR programs and continuous improvement projects
Project Management
Lead and manage HR projects and programs, ensuring timely and effective delivery.
The ideal candidate will need to have the following qualities and experience:
At least 20 years of relevant HR experience, including at least 10 years in a supervisory/leadership position
Excellent communications and interpersonal skills with strong ability to engage and influence stakeholders at various levels
Strategic mindset and perspective, comfortable with ambiguity with the ability to diagnose current state, anticipate future needs and recommend forward-thinking solutions
Good understanding and practical application of local employment law and HR practices, and familiar with the emerging HR trends
