Actively promote and reinforce a positive brand image of the College through public communication efforts, the production of institutional collateral and managing publicity efforts for institutional events.The responsibilities of this role are:
The Assistant Manager, Public Affairs will play a key role in the College’s public communications and event management efforts. To enhance the College’s brand reputation, the successful candidate will focus on maintaining effective and consistent communications of the College’s programmes and initiatives through media, social media and digital channels to the College’s stakeholders.
Media management – Write media releases, daily news scans, pitching of stories, managing media queries and working on media analysis
Content creation and monitoring of the College’s social media channels, including developing campaigns to publicise College events and programmes, and managing student associates working on the channel
Conceptualisation and execution of communication materials, including internal and external communications messages, institutional collaterals, Yale-NUS web stories and the updating of web pages
Maintain the consistency of the College’s brand and identity in visual communications
Manage publicity efforts for College and stakeholder events
Support the management of the institutional gifts repository
The successful candidate will need to thrive in a fluid and dynamic environment that embraces a diversity of views and cultures.
The ideal candidate will need to have the following qualities and experience:
Degree holder
Minimum of 3 years of working experience in corporate communications, public relations, events management or journalism.
Candidates with lesser experience will be considered for the Senior Executive position.
Experience in developing a communications plan and crafting on-target messages for diverse audience, both within and outside the College.
Proficiency in media release writing, story pitching, handling media queries and managing media relations.
Knowledge of trends in social media and expertise in use of social media to engage with a wide variety of audiences.
Good project management skills, able to conceptualise, lead and manage events and communications projects.
Good people skills to be able to manage highly motivated pool of student associates
Able to work on tasks/assignments independently and against tight timelines
A strong writer with experience in the conceptualisation and production of marketing communications material for internal and external stakeholders
Good command of the English language (spoken and written) and strong communication and presentation skills. High competency in a second language will be an added advantage.
Active team player and leader, confident, creative and resourceful. Ability to work collaboratively across departments.
