Our client is actively searching for an Assistant Director, Cyber Security to join their team!

The responsibilities of this role are:

• Lead the Cyber Security team to manage all cyber security-related matters that support the university’s objectives and strategies
• Provide leadership through the development of a culture of cyber security, cyber security strategies and action plans
• Formulate cyber security goals and establish policies, standards and procedures in line with the university’s cyber security posture
• Review, endorse and align cyber security and develop risk management and mitigation plans
• Ensure cyber security compliance to university’s governance, policies and standards
• Manage security audits, assess the impact and provide responses to cyber threats, incidents and remediation efforts
• Develop cyber security awareness programmes and defined processes for Incident Management and Recovery including table-top exercises and drills
• Report on cyber security initiatives, scans, incidents to management and statutory reporting to MOE
• Advise on the appropriate cyber security solutions and technologies to be deployed
• Align IT needs and security with the strategic cyber security direction
• Implement change management process to keep up with evolving cyber threat landscape

The ideal candidate will need to have the following qualities and experience:

• Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering or equivalent
• At least 10 years of management experience related to enterprise IT security, cyber security and/or cloud security
• Good knowledge and experience with cloud security standards and cybersecurity frameworks like NIST, ISO27001, MTCS, CSA Security-by-Design and Personal Data Protection Act (PDPA) are essential
• Good understanding of both IT and business processes
• Ability to work with cross-functional teams to formulate and monitor security policies and procedures
• Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to present to all levels of staff including Board members
• Preferably with certifications in Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP), Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA) or Certified Information Security Manager (CISM)
• Adaptable with willingness to readily take on tasks beyond scope of responsibility
• Good leadership qualities with positive attitude and excellent team player
