The Human Resource team plays an integral part in making the University a great place to work by implementing best-practice programmes to attract, recruit, develop, groom and retain our talents. We are seeking a team member who is experienced in business partnering, HR strategy and policies to join our Human Resource Division.
As a business partner, the incumbent will focus on the partnership with business units which includes the management of staff, and recruitment to meet hiring demands and create strong talent pipeline for the University’s future manpower needs. The incumbent will also be involved in the review and writing of HR policies, develop HR strategies, and participate in strategic HR projects to achieve work harmony, productivity, and progress towards organisational goals and objectives.
The responsibilities of this role are:
Perform the role of a HR Business partner including recruitment, salary recommendations, employee relations, grievance handling, staff engagement and advisory services on HR policies and procedures.
Coach and provide guidance to stakeholders in people and performance management
Engage with the Line Managers to assess their business needs for manpower deployment and partner with them to develop and deploy preventive measures
Review, write and promulgate HR policies
Be involved in the review and development of HR strategies
Participate in strategic organizational or HR projects and take up a lead role in driving some of the projects
Any other duties as assigned.
The ideal candidate will need to have the following qualities and experience:
Candidate must possess at least a Bachelor’s degree, Post Graduate Diploma, Professional Degree or equivalent.
At least 8 years of relevant work experience out of which at least 4 years were spent in a combination of policy review and writing and participating in strategic HR projects
Strength in Business Partnering to manage a business unit comprising professionals in diverse fields
Must have a demonstrated ability to review and write policy and possess very good writing skills
Good knowledge of Singapore employment laws and regulations, market practices and general business environment
Good knowledge of current and emerging trends in HR sustainability and the implementation of HR sustainability projects
Preferable to have prior experience in conceptualising and implementing HR strategic plans and initiatives, and knowledge of current and emerging trends in HR sustainability and the implementation of HR sustainability project
