Our client is actively searching for a Senior Lecturer/ Lecturer to join their team!

The responsibilities of this role are :-

Education 

• Facilitate and conduct all teaching assignments at both Bachelors and Masters levels; both face-to-face and virtual delivery.
• Typical teaching load will be 4 full modules per year; including project supervision.
• Introduce new undergraduate laboratory experiments to make these more attractive to students.
• Develop, design and continuously improve curriculum plans, course outlines, evaluation procedures and instruments to foster student learning, stimulate class discussions, and ensure student engagement.
• Mentor students on both academic and non-academic matters
• Any other assigned duties

Service

• Work with outreach efforts in raising awareness of the impact of Material Science Engineering as a top degree and career choice through engagements with local high schools and junior colleges
• Formulate and act on plans to increase diversity and a better gender balance in the student cohorts.
• Work closely with the department management team to develop new programs and alumni engagements to make Material Science Engineering a top degree choice for undergraduate/graduate students
• Provide ad hoc admin support on student matters when necessary

The ideal candidate will need to have the following qualities and experience:

• A PhD in Materials Science & Engineering or a related discipline.
• Appointments at the Senior lecturer level will be expected to show leadership by sharing their teaching and educational contributions in appropriate ways so as to improve institutional practice. 
• Experience in any of the following areas would be an advantage: Artificial Intelligence methods for materials; materials for energy & sustainability; microelectronics or quantum materials; and materials characterization
• Teaching experience including planning, conducting, assessing, and evaluating courses is an advantage
• Interest in student learning and expertise in a range of teaching and learning strategies, such as flipped learning and team-based learning
• Genuine interest in student learning and engagement and am keen to work with flipped classroom methods, team-based learning, and assessment for learning
• Possess a teaching philosophy that promotes lifelong learning and future-ready skills.
• Has the commitment to preparing graduates for Industry 4.0.
