  JOB DESCRIPTION Our client is actively searching for an Assistant Director, Grant Management to join their team!

Reporting to the Head of Applied Research Office, the Assistant Director is responsible for supporting the Division's efforts in grants management and University's  applied research efforts.

The responsibilities of this role are:
  • To assist in providing leadership and strategic direction to the Grants Administration team.
  • To improve on the framework and governance aspects of grant management and to communicate them to key stakeholders.
  • To plan and leverage on IT applications to support the applied research efforts of the University and grant management.
  • To work with key stakeholders (i.e. HR, CIT, FIN and Academic staff) on streamlining processes and facilitate applied research efforts.
  • To assist in running the day-to-day operations of the division, initiating and implementing process improvements and managing staff.

The ideal candidate will need to have the following qualities and experience:
  • Degree in Engineering, Science, Business or equivalent with at least 15 years of working experience. Out of this working experience, at least 7 years are in management and leadership position.
  • Good leadership skills with track records in project management, change management and stakeholder management.
  • Strong experience in grant management at both organisation and national level.
  • Experience in IT framework for grants submission, management and reporting.
  • A committed believer in continuous learning and self-improvement, with a strong sense of confidence in managing his/her own learning process.
  • Hands-on and self-motivated team player.
  • A high energy goal-getter that works well with colleagues.
  • Client facing experience, highly articulate with good administrative and interpersonal skills.
