Lead Data Scientist
As lead data scientist, you are expected to advise head of COE on new opportunities and synergies, and act as thought leader and expert for analytics teams across the group.

The responsibilities of this role are: 
  • Understand business problems and design end to end analytics use cases.
  • Develop complex models and algorithms that drive innovation throughout the organisation. This may include improving on-time performance, network planning, etc.
  • Conducts advanced statistical analysis to provide actionable insights, identify trends, and measure performance.
  • Collaborates with data engineers and architects to design, implement and deploy scalable analytics solutions.
  • Collaborates with data stewards and data model/governance lead to flag and resolve shortcomings in data quality or enterprise-data model.
  • Provides thought leadership by researching best practices, conducting experiments and collaborating with industry leaders
  • Provide expertise and support as lead data scientist to analytics teams across cluster; act as both an expert and an inspirer for data talent
  • Identify and drive opportunities for cross country/ UC best practice sharing, synergies and data commonalities
  • Advise head of COE on UC opportunities, UC portfolio effects and synergies, new trends and opportunities etc

The ideal candidate will need to have the following qualities and experience:
  • MS/PhD in computer science, statistics, economics, mathematics, ops research or related technical discipline.
  • 10+ years’ experience in a statistical and/or data science role.
  • Deep understanding of analytics from data/tech/talent perspective with broad understanding of latest Data Science, Analytics and Technology trends and their impact on business strategies and operations.
  • Ability to independently drive portfolio of work upon aligning strategy with Head of COE.
  • Ability to ‘translate’ analytics while also developing a working understanding of hospital operations/user-needs.

  • Deep knowledge of machine learning, statistics, optimisation or related field.
  • Experience with R or Python and SQL Is required. Background in programming in C, C++, Java is beneficial.
  • Hands-on experience with contemporary deep-learning frameworks (e.g., TensorFlow, Keras, Pytorch), ideally also in the context of NLP.
  • Experience working with large data sets, simulation/optimisation and distributed computing tools (Hadoop, Hive, Spark, etc.).
  • Proven ability to nurture and lead technical talent.
