  JOB DESCRIPTION Our client is seeking a dynamic and experienced Senior Director/VP of HR (APAC), to join their organization. If you have more than 10 years of HR generalist experience on a senior management level, read on to find out more!

The responsibilities of this role are:

HR Strategy, Leadership, and Coordination
  • Develop a strategic approach to HR and the execution of these strategies.
  • Lead and support a continuous change agenda advising on people decisions to drive effectiveness.
  • Ensure that HR issues are given full consideration in all decision making.
  • Work with functional HR Heads in market to develop appropriate human resource policies and standards to ensure effective, fair and equitable management of employees throughout the organisation.
  • Provide advice, information and support to senior management in assigned markets, line managers and employees on HR policies and procedures, budgeting, business reviews, in line with best practice.
  • Focus on the continuous improvement of HR processes and procedures.
  • Ensure completion of the annual IPG code of conduct process and other global initiatives.
  • Prepare reports for management in relation to employee turnover; new hires; resignations; training and development etc.
Recruitment, Talent Development and Management, and Retention
  • Execute talent, retention, and succession planning initiatives.
  • Work with the regional and global HR team on talent management strategy and the annual talent review process.
  • Support, communicate and advise senior management on their talent development initiatives.
  • Be involved in senior level resourcing at the country level including interviewing candidates to ensuring onboarding is completed.
  • Create a company culture of engagement that enhances a climate of strategic involvement for a multi-generation work force.
  • Manage programmes and processes for attracting, developing, rewarding, recognizing and retaining talent.
  • Ensure effective performance management and development processes are in place to manage performance and grow talent.
  • Develop and follow-up on Succession Plans to ensure a competent workforce and develop a work force planning strategy that supports the needs of the business.
  • Develop Area/Group Training calendar for both global core training programs and locally administered training. Collaborate with key management in the successful delivery of company-specific training content.
Compensation and Benefits
  • Works closely with finance partners and HR worldwide in preparation of salary structures and salary budgets for the group/area and countries.
  • Consolidate compensation recommendations and submissions.
  • Manage recognition programmes and ensure compliance to C&B programmes.
Legal and Compliance Practices
  • Ensure up-to-date knowledge and implementation of HR policies, programmes, and laws. Ensure global wide compliance with policies and labour laws.
  • Continual policy and process development, and amending these policies and procedures in line with labour laws benchmarks and employment law regulations.
  • Participate in resolution of employee relations issues and coordinate all activities related to employee relations issues with appropriate HR, internal and external legal counsel, and others as required.
Organization Effectiveness and Development
  • Identify and analyze future organization capability requirements, develop actions and long-term workforce plans to ensure efficient organizational design.
  • Support re-engineering & restructuring processes as per the company needs.

The ideal candidate will need to have the following qualities and experience:
  • More than 10 years of experience in a HR capacity, preferably in multinational company with matrix reporting structure
  • Strong regional experience across the Asia Pacific
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills to communicate globally across multinational network and individuals
  • Experienced in global mobility
  • Strong business partnering, proven relationship building capabilities, and powerful business acumen with sound business judgement
  • Demonstrated ability to solve challenges and to deal with pressure and ambiguity
  • Excellent work ethic and grounding on discretion and confidentiality
  • Ability to analyze, interpret data and information and influence others
