  JOB DESCRIPTION Our client is actively searching for a Manager, Dean of Faculty to join their team!

The responsibilities of this role are:
  • The Manager, Dean of Faculty (DOF) will play a key role in assisting the Dean of Faculty and the Director, Common Curriculum (DCC), Dean of Faculty Office.
    The duties include:
  • Manage and execute administrative support for functions related to faculty teaching and support in the Office of the Dean of Faculty. These include peer review of teaching; experiential learning including field trips; Teaching Innovation Grants – working closely with faculty members on application solicitation, review, and administration; annual Teaching Awards; and other initiatives as they emerge. There are also opportunities to build on these activities, so initiative is appreciated.
  • Work with the Dean of Faculty and the Director of the Common Curriculum in administrative coordination for the Common Curriculum.
    • Plan and execute periodic Common Curriculum Reviews: Develop timeline of activities with Director of Common Curriculum with data required for self-study report such as online survey for faculty members and students, focus group meetings, alumni reports, course evaluation etc; notes taking during review; logistics for visitors and the review panel.
    • Document and update Common Curriculum teaching and other activities: (once per semester) Collate and upload of Facilitators Reports; course evaluation data analysis; update Common Curriculum microsite; maintain syllabi archive; update faculty assignment in Common Curriculum modules database; and related matters. Coordinate the preparation of annual report on the common curriculum
    • Secretariat support for Council of Facilitators and other committees within the College: Develop agenda; minutes taking and follow-up on action items, as required; logistics: schedule & catering
    • Scheduling appointments and meetings for the DCC
  • Conduct research and surveys on issues surrounding teaching policies and programs; liaise on research projects with other academic institutions; develop evaluation standards and methods
  • Pro-actively manage project communications, tasks, and timelines; and monitor compliance with Common Curriculum and teaching-related policies
  • Draft or revise memos, reports, and publicity documents on the Common Curriculum and other teaching matters, as required by the Director or Dean of Faculty
  • Maintain a detailed and accurate working knowledge of College policies in order to perform duties effectively; establish objectives; determine priorities; and gain the cooperation of others
  • Develop policy and standard operating procedure documents as needed
  • Provide support to College-wide initiatives
  • Support to the Dean of Faculty and Associate Director on special projects
  • Perform other duties as assigned

The ideal candidate will need to have the following qualities and experience:
  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Experience in higher education
  • Demonstrated ability to manage projects, work well independently, in a team, and colleagues in other departments
