  JOB DESCRIPTION Our client is actively searching for an Quantity Surveyor, Campus Development & Estates to join their team!

The successful candidate reports to the Assistant Director/Deputy Director (Campus Development, Estates), and is responsible for all cost and contract matters related to the University development projects. 
 
Responsibilities :
  • Perform administration of contracts for various types of projects including preparation of tender and contract documents to ensure compliance with the corporate governance when managing the procurement and contract administration processes.
  • Review submissions by external consultants on contract administration matters, such as assessing contractors’ payments, claims for variation works, financial report, final account and administering the submission of certificates/warranties, insurances etc.
  • Monitoring of project expenditure and preparation of cash flow projections/updates for budget control with and including advising on possible cost over-runs and alternative solutions.
  • Liaise with Project Team to review of contract variations.
  • Attend consultant and site meeting with the Project Team.
  • Assist and coordinate internal and external auditing.

The ideal candidate will need to have the following qualities and experience:
  • Degree in Building, Estates or Quantity Surveying from a recognised University with minimun 5 years of relevant working experience, preferably in public/ developer organisations or consultant Quantity Surveying firms.
  • Technically competent in various software programmes such as Microsoft project, Microsoft powerpoint, Microsoft Word and Microsoft Excel.
  • Having added knowledge of having used the Project Management Information System (such as Aconex, Bentley etc.) would be preferred.
  • Strong organisational, administrative and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong analytical and technical knowledge in cost and contract as well as construction management will be an advantage for this post.
  • Meticulous with an eye for details and able to communicate with people at all levels; and monitor construction costs and review consultants’ and contractors’ claims, variations, to ensure correctness.
  • Strong organisational, administrative and interpersonal skills.
