JOB SUMMARY
 
We are looking for exceptional early-mid career researchers to join our qualitative research unit to mentor junior members of the team as well as to grow the business. As a qualitative researcher, you will aid the team in implementing and managing qualitative projects, drive interpretation and presentation of research results in a visual and impactful manner.

The responsibilities of this role are:

 •  Lead and manage running of qualitative projects with key focus on a broad range of issues: 
  • Manage the execution of qualitative projects, including the conduct of primary and secondary research, managing data collection and surfacing insights
    • Conduct focus groups, in-depth interviews and other related fieldwork to gather data
    • Meeting and liaising with clients to negotiate and agree on research projects
    • Formulating a plan or proposal and presenting it to the client or senior management
    • Supervise research activities including writing screeners, discussion guides and report writing
    • Extract meaningful insights and develop high level reports from qualitative research data
 
  • Oversee recruitment for qualitative projects:
    • Plan and lead research design (respondent segmentation)
    • Supervise the progress of the project and make adjustments as necessary to ensure the successful completion of the project 
  • Managing and mentoring junior members in the team on:
 
  • Conducting qualitative fieldwork, which involves interviewing, focus group moderation and undertaking ethnographic research (observing people in their homes and other environments)
  • Writing detailed reports and presenting results
  • Advising clients or senior management on how to best use research findings

                  
The ideal candidate will need to have the following qualities and experience:
  • At least  3  years’  experience  applying  qualitative/ethnographic skills to the solution of real-world problems
  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field such as Anthropology, Psychology, Sociology or Social Sciences with a strong interest in research
  • Some background in quantitative methods, or at least experience collaborating with quantitative researchers, is desirable as well.
  • Competent in English and one or more of the following languages - Chinese, Malay or Tamil
  • Strong PowerPoint and analytical skills and an ability to tell compelling stories from data
  • Strong planning and organizational skills, with the ability to keep multiple time-sensitive projects on track
  •  Strong social, interpersonal, and communication skills (both written and oral communication skills)
  •  Self-motivated and take a proactive approach to work
  •  Dependable and responsible
  •  Innovative and open to suggestions
  •  Experience or familiarity with data visualisation and analysis tools (e.g. Tableau) is highly preferred
  •  Prior exposure to any kind of research methods will be preferred
