  JOB DESCRIPTION Our client is actively searching for an Assistant Manager, Govt Relations & Strategic Planning to join their team!

Job Purpose
The Assistant Manager works with the Associate Director to assist and support the Dean in strengthening the School's relations with the government and international partners, as well as assists the Associate Director in cross-departmental and strategic projects involving multiple internal and external stakeholders.

The responsibilities of this role are:

Assist in institutionalizing and strengthening relations between the School and relevant government agencies
  • Be the point of contact (together with the Associate Director) for government agencies
  • Explore collaboration opportunities with government agencies
  • Institutionalize the relations between the School and the Government agencies by establishing a proper knowledge management system
  • Work with Research Centres and other departments in the School to secure funding support from government agencies
  • Assist in the monitoring and reporting of KPIs of the Research Centres
Assist in managing strategic projects in collaboration with government agencies
  • Assist in the planning and feasibility study of potential projects and events in collaboration with government agencies, for example organizing a public lecture in collaboration with the Civil Service College or a strategic project in collaboration with the Public Service Division
  • Assist in the implementation and monitoring of the projects and events
  • Assist in the post-event or project debrief to review effectiveness of the projects and events for continuous improvements
Other Duties
  • Involvement in the School-wide strategic projects/initiatives, as required
  • Any other ad-hoc projects and duties as required

The ideal candidate will need to have the following qualities and experience:
  • Possess a Bachelor Degree
  • Possess at least 3 years of working experience, preferably in Ministries and/or Statutory Boards
  • Possess excellent writing skills and a strong understanding of how government agencies work
  • Possess good attention to details and the ability to work well with others
  • Possess strong ability in forging consensus among multiple stakeholders
  • Possess good knowledge of MS Office applications
  • Possess strong interpersonal and project management skills
