As part of the Advancement and Development team, the individual will manage a wide variety of functions and resources that support all university fundraising.  He/she will provide leadership in the areas of gift administration, database management and integrity, data analysis and reporting, donor stewardship, communications, research and special events/projects.

The responsibilities of this role are:

Database Management/Gift Administration
  • Manage donor data management procedures and gift administration workflow
  • Coordinate gift processing and reconcile gift documentation and reports
  • Generate gift processing, donation and fund utilisation reports
  • Maintain the integrity, security and confidentiality of digital data and relevant print documents
  • Meet and comply with gift guidelines and policies
  • Assist with matching grant and tax deduction for donations
  • Ensures receipt, acknowledgment and allocation of gifts according to the agreed requirements of the University and the donor
 Stewardship, Communications, Research, Events and Special Projects
Work with Advancement Services team and key internal stakeholders to:
  • Develop customised stewardship reports to donors annually
  • Prepare donor recognition events and stewardship plans to strengthen donor relationships
  • Ensure timely and accurate updates of donor gift information and stewardship activity
  • Develop and enhance public understanding of giving opportunities and donor-related programmes
  • Support advancement-related projects and events management for campus visits, presentations, functions, receptions, ceremonies, media and public announcements
  • Track news in industry, education and philanthropy that could impact giving
  • Assist in lead generation and conduct research to determine interest and giving potential
Others
  • Contribute to advancement related operational activities and projects
  • Provide administration support to the department
  • Undertake and perform other duties as assigned

The ideal candidate will need to have the following qualities and experience:
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred, with minimum 3 years of experience in fundraising function or similar capacity
  • Comparable experience in administration, operations, accounting and audit, communications, database management, database query, CRM, analyst/policy work strongly recommended
  • Strong organisational skills, meticulous, systematic, process-oriented, and attention to detail
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and controls
  • Ability to work closely with multiple stakeholders
  • Competent in managing complex projects with competing priorities, requests and strict datelines
  • Demonstrated management skills, with creative problem-solving and good project management
  • Possess maturity of thought and sound judgment
  • Strong interpersonal skills and positive team player
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Familiarity with higher education philanthropy and passion for technology and design desirable
  • Highly internet savvy, with good MS Office skills particularly Excel
  • Experience in using fundraising software and web content management systems advantageous
