  JOB DESCRIPTION Our client is actively searching for an Assistant Manager, Contracts & Agreements to join their team!

The responsibilities of this role are:
  • Serve as point of contact for contracts and agreements¬†
  • Work collaboratively with stakeholders to provide comprehensive advice and guidance to staff on contractual issues relating to commercial and non-commercial business and research;
  • Facilitate discussions with clinician scientists, unit heads and external parties to steward the drafting, negotiation, finalisation and monitoring of agreements and contracts in consultation with business units, legal counsel, grant management and IP management teams;
  • Assist researchers with the interpretation and execution of grant terms and conditions as well as research compliance matters such as insurance, sponsorship, regulatory matters, clinical trial certificate applications, ethical issues and legal liabilities;
  • Organise initial drafts of agreements (i.e. Research Collaboration Agreements, MOUs, Joint Venture Agreements, Renewals, Extensions and Addendums) for major initiatives at the school;
  • Engage with relevant stakeholders that support the development of commercial activities at the faculty level e.g., government initiatives and agencies, industry partners and the investor community;
  • Maintain knowledge and awareness of the innovation landscape especially of collaborative research and grant funding opportunities;
  • Work with investigators to identify and resolve issues/risks associated with the contract and underlying relationships between the parties;
  • Identify and pre-empt steps that need to be taken to comply with the requirements of any contract review and signature authority policies in order to expedite review and consideration;
  • Monitor time and responsibility schedules from contract initiation and finalisation between the relevant parties and propose concrete ways to expedite future engagements;
  • Maintain centrally, latest versions of templates and checklists for various types of agreements and contracts;
  • Maintain a contracts and agreements database for the faculty

The ideal candidate will need to have the following qualities and experience:
  • At least Bachelor of Science. Other qualifications in IP law, Business or Entrepreneurship will be an advantage.
  • 2-3 years of relevant experience in Technology Transfer Activities including;
    • facilitating Research Collaborations
    • working knowledge of IP management, Licensing/Commercialisation¬† activities
    • project Management.
  • Experienced in working with tech transfer counterparts
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills
  • Able to work in a complex organisational environment, with a need to balance the expectations of multiple stakeholders
  • Possess strong analytical skills
  • Able to tackle complicated research, regulatory and contractual issues;
  • Proficient in I.T. systems and MS Office applications.
