  JOB DESCRIPTION Our client is actively searching for an Associate Director, Government Relations & Strategic Projects to join their team!

The responsibilities of this role are:
  • Build and strengthen Singapore Government Relations:
    The Associate Director assists and supports the Dean in strengthening government and international relations. Principally, he/she plays a key role in building linkages with the Singapore Government as well as draft and clear any top-level proposals/ updates (e.g. Cabinet Memo) required from the School.
     
    He/she also oversees the development and management of the strategic partnership, negotiating terms with partners, as well as monitor and report the performance of the affiliates.
     
    Build and strengthen foreign relations:
    He/ she will be responsible for building and strengthening foreign relations. He /she will also organize foreign visits or courtesy calls of dignitaries and top governmental officials to the School.
     
    Strategic Projects:
    In addition, he/ she will oversee cross-departmental and strategic projects involving multiple departments and stakeholders. Partner various Departments in writing funding proposals for Government-funded programmes and Research Centres to secure financial sustainability for the School’s programmes and Research Centres. Work with Heads of Departments and Research Centre Directors to ensure that their strategic projects (e.g. funding and work projects) are secure and on track.
     
     

The ideal candidate will need to have the following qualities and experience:
  • Good Bachelor’s Degree; a Master Degree preferred.
  • At least 12 years of experience in working with senior officials in Singapore Government agencies, and a proven track record in working well with colleagues from different departments within an organisation.
  • Excellent analytical skills.
  • Demonstrated leadership and interpersonal skills, with a proven track record in managing a team.
  • Excellent writing and communication skills
  • Deep understanding of how the Singapore Government agencies work.
  • Versatile and strong ability to work across a wide range of issues and collaborate well with other departments in the School and foreign agencies/ bodies.
