  JOB DESCRIPTION Our client is actively searching for a Deputy Director, Strategic Planning to join their team!

The responsibilities of this role are:

The Deputy Director (Strategic Planning) assists the Dean in formulating the strategic directions for the School and maintaining a strategic oversight of the School's critical functions.
He/she provides leadership to the Strategic Planning department in the School, including its role as secretariat to the School's Governing Board, Management Committee, Senior Management etc.

 The Deputy Director will provide leadership to a team of 5 staff and be responsible for the following:-  

Strategic Planning & Corporate Planning:
  1. Assist the Dean, in formulating the strategic directions for the School, and maintaining a strategic oversight and management of the School’s Departments.  This includes formulating an annual School-level work plan, and assisting the Dean to keep track of the progress of the work plan.
  2. Supports the Dean on strategic and cross-departmental projects as well as work with various stakeholders to achieve the desired goals and outcomes.
Secretariat to the School's Governing Board (GB), Chairman and Management Committee (MC) meetings, MC meetings and Senior Management Meeting (SMM):
  1. Provide oversight for the secretary role for the School’s Governing Board (GB), Chairman and Management Committee (MC) meetings, MC meetings and Senior Management Meeting (SMM)
  2. Oversee issues relating to the governance of the School, e.g., reviewing the School Charter, the appointment of Board members.
 Oversee Risk Management Framework
Oversee and spearhead the implementation of a School-level risk management framework. Lead, head and drive the audit process in a timely and effective manner, in order to bring about process improvements
Oversee Contract Management function
Oversee and improve the contract management framework. Lead contract negotiations with internal and external parties  

The ideal candidate will need to have the following qualities and experience:
  • Good Bachelor’s Degree; a Master Degree preferred.
Job Relevant Experience or Attributes:
  • At least 12 years of working experience and at least 5 years of experience in corporate planning and organization development at the management level
    • Possess strong analytical skills, is meticulous and has a high level of integrity
  • Possess the ability to multi-task and work effectively with internal and external stakeholders at all levels
  • Demonstrated leadership and interpersonal skills, with a proven track record in managing a team.
  • Excellent writing and communication skills.
Job Specific Technical Requirements (if any):
  • Ability to be versatile and work across a wide range of issues and collaborate well with other departments in the School.
