The responsibilities of this role are:

Job Purpose
This role will drive financial re-engineering processes and improving financial governance of the school. The incumbent would also be in-charge of successful running of the day-to-day finance related operation of the school.

Duties and Responsibilities
1. Accounts Payable
  • Oversee and Manage day to day Accounts payable operations of the School including accurate and timely processing of all payment processes are in accordance to policy and guidelines
  • Ensure year-end closing entries are accurate
2. Cash Collection & bank-in
  • Manage the day-to-day cash collection and bank in process
3. Fixed Assets
  • Ensure accurate and timely recording in accordance to policy and guidelines                         
            a) Fixed Assets (such as D-WBS, Intangible asset)
  • Ensure the annual FA verification exercise is carried out accurately and timely
  • Ensure year-end closing entries are accurate
4. Credit Note
  • Ensure credit note is issued timely and accurately
5. Proxy Payment Approval
  • Ensure proxy payment is approved accurately and timely
6. Corporate Card Expenses (P card) Approval

7. Statutory and Management Reporting

8. Ensure that all Student Finance related matters are completed timely and accurately

9. Provide advice to internal customers or other divisions of the School on Finance related guidelines and policies including day-to-day execution of finance duties to ensure adherence and compliance with School-wide guidelines, policies and procedures

10. Assist staff members to understand their roles to ensure their contribution to the team and to coach and mentor staff for development including rob rotation, job expansion and to ensure finance related task are carried out properly and efficiently

11. Engage in any other ad-hoc duties or projects as assigned from time to time support School’s operations
The ideal candidate will need to have the following qualities and experience:

  • Degree in Accounting with professional qualification (Chartered Accountant) a must
  • Minimum 7 years working experience and at least 2 years with International Audit firm preferred.
  • 3 years working experience with government linked organization preferred
  • Strong in business partnering and operations control
  • Able to multi-task, cope with urgent request and have worked in a fast pace environment
  • Team player must have team spirit. At the same time, able to work independently
  • Resourceful and pro-active
  • Diplomatic in handling internal and external stakeholders
  • Good in oral and written communication
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint
  • Knowledge of SAP preferred
